Enriching OER with Ancillary OER: Developing Supporting Materials

Abstract: Open Educational Resources (OER) are freely accessible, openly licensed materials that can be used for teaching, learning, and research. OERs remove access and financial barriers by providing affordable, high-quality learning materials to students and educators. However, many educators still face the challenges of adopting an OER without ancillary educational resources; support materials such as test banks, assignments, and grading rubrics.

This conference proposal focuses on the development and utilization of ancillary OERs. The objective is to bring together educators, instructional designers, and OER advocates to share their experiences, best practices, and challenges in developing and using ancillary OERs to enrich existing OER adoption by providing assessment resources. Our goal is to explore the potential of ancillary OERs for enhancing the quality and accessibility of education.

The conference will cover the following topics:

Track 1: Introduction to ancillary OER and best practices for developing, licensing, and sharing them with the global community

Track 2: Case studies and examples of successful implementation for ancillary OER

Track 3: Strategies for collaborating and sharing ancillary OER

Track 4: Future directions and trends for ancillary OER

The conference will provide a platform for attendees to learn from experts, share their experiences and ideas, and network with peers. We welcome submissions for presentations, posters, and workshops that address the conference themes. We encourage submissions from a diverse range of fields, including but not limited to education, instructional design, open education, and technology.

Join us to explore the possibilities of OER for creating high-quality, affordable, and accessible ancillary educational resources.
